Access to Educational Materials and CME
NTREC enrollment will provide access to valuable educational materials and about 20 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) on effective strategies and practices to select, implement and meaningfully use certified EHR technology. It is anticipated that materials from HIMSS, AHIMA and other professional organizations will be available to eligible providers and their support staff.
Consulting Assistance for EHR Activities and Meaningful Use will include the following:
- Initial Practice Assessment
Estimated number of hours per practice: (4-6 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: The written project assessment will assimilate findings and detail practice demographics, clinic volume, staffing, practice goals, expectations, cost limitations and will include a project timeline and project plan. - Vendor Evaluation and Selection
Estimated number of hours per practice: (12-18 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: RFP, vendor selection matrix, vendor demonstrations, vendor contract. - Workflow Analysis and Process Redesign
Estimated number of hours per practice: (12-16 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: Process flow diagrams with narrative of observations and discussion of opportunities for improving processes. - Implementation Project Review
Estimated number of hours per practice: (4-8 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: Project timeline. Practice check sheet to confirm training on necessary components for meaningful use. - Post-implementation Review
Estimated number of hours per practice: (2-4 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: Post go-live report detailing practice satisfaction results, gap analysis of necessary training, future direction and needs to meet meaningful use. Estimation of meeting, e-prescribing, quality reporting and meaningful use requirements. - Meaningful Use Gap Analysis / Certification
Estimated number of hours per practice: (4-6 hours)
Outcomes and deliverables: Completion of meaningful use checklist. Identification of tasks not implemented and need for additional training or process changes.
